Thought
academic research + teaching
I research and teach university courses on critical thinking. These academic pursuits, in turn, inform my design thinking process.

thinking for design

My interest in design stems from over 10 years of experience as an academic researcher trained in critical thinking, informal logic, and rhetoric.

Thinking is the most crucial element in design for me. This section has been included in my portfolio to give a sense of my approach towards structural thinking, with brief introductions to the approaches with which I align myself.

In addition, the old addage that you don't really understand something until you can teach it certainly hold true for me. I've also included a short description of my teaching experience because it is often the place where my design thinking gets challenged, rearticulated, and honed for real-world use.
